Overpass graffiti
Finished work today at a time that made it so I could bike to a fundraising event. This is from the ride home with the trail going under the overpass.
I’ve stopped here a few times before. It’s great if it’s raining as you can get out of it for a break. It’s also great on a hot sunny day as it provides lots of shade. Today the weather was about perfect so I just stopped to take in the view.

Birthday run views
Made it out for a run this morning, figure I need to preemptively make up for the birthday treats I’ll have today.
The sun was shining bright and the light on this field and the old fence line that follows along the river some.

Smoke on the water
My thirteen year old had a basketball clinic away from home today so we had to get in the road fairly early. It was frosty this morning with lots of fog.
On the drive in whenever we past water it was covered with a foggy smoke. If we weren’t on a time crunch I would have stopped to try to get a picture with the sunrise.
After I dropped him off I went to grab a coffee and found a close by park to go for a walk in. I went a little off trail to get down to the lake and just hung out for a bit there.

Swish
Basketball is a big part of our lives. My son plays and I help coach his teams. We also like watching basketball when we can.
We had practice tonight and this was one of his warm up shots. I tried my hand at some phot editing from my phone. Not super happy with how it turned out, but the basketball shot was better then the camera shot.

Up around the bend
A few of us in the house went out for an evening walk tonight. I guess I delayed things a bit too much as it gets dark so early now. We didn’t go as far as I’d have liked as the trail was darker then I imagined.
As you’re coming out of the trail there is a section that comes up hill and takes a turn. I always liked this spot, maybe because I knew it was close to the end on tough runs, or bike ride.
Tonight with the leaves all covering the trail was no exception. I knew once we made it around the corner the end would be near and we’d make it out before it got too dark.

Previous fence
It was a rainy day, mostly light, but a bit heavy during some of the walk tonight.
I’ve tried taking pictures of this pile of old fence posts a few times as I really liked the fence and even as a pile they look interesting. When these posts were actually a fence we had our family photos taken on and around them one year.
For at least a while there was a little chipmunk or squirrel living in there, but I haven’t seen him in a long time.

Shadow
Today was my first day back to work after an extended leave. I’m going to have to be more deliberate about ensuring I have opportunities to do the things I want in the run of the day. From exercise to taking a good picture. Today I didn’t do so great at it.
While getting some last minute fresh air on the back deck tonight after basketball practice one of lights in the house was turned on and caused this kind of neat shadow of myself looking over the deck to show up on the back lawn.

Sea worn tree
My thirteen year old son had his final cross country race today. It was the beautiful Point Pleasant Park with lots of great treed paths and this part which opened up to the harbour.
It is also the last day before I head back to work after an extended leave and I was so happy to get to spend it with my son. We had a fun day together and I treasure the time we get.
He was down throwing rocks in the water before the race with his teammates/ friends when I saw this old tree which has been well worn down by the waves.

Lake at dusk
Someday I would love to have a cottage on either the ocean or on a lake. There is something so peaceful about it. Even just standing at the side of this lake tonight was a great way to start winding down the day. But if I had my own place that I could sit back in a comfy chair or hammock while drinking my morning coffee, or a non caffeinated drink at night it would be amazing. Maybe someday.

Under the bridge
Spending the weekend at a basketball tournament with my thirteen year old son. We have to drive over this bridge to get to the school it’s held in.
In the summers we have gone tubing down this river. This is where you get in a large tire inner tube and float down the river. This bridge is basically the end of the ride. You go under and then hop out and climb up the side. It’s a lot of fun and kind of like a lazy river. Though if you do it with multiple families and cheap inflatable boats, it’s not that lazy. We’ve had boats pop and scrambling to move kids over to other floating devices. It’s still fun. Even the time I lost my car keys was fun.
