• Froggy love?

Out for a walk this afternoon and went up to look at the lily pads when I noticed some eyes looking back at me.

They didn’t seem modest or shy at all.

There was another pair over to the right as well one sitting on a lily pad. I think that’s the first time I’ve seen a frog on an actual lily pad in real life.

  • Slash

This is a different type then I normally post, but last night I got to see one of my all time favourite bands, Guns N’ Roses!

The whole band was still able to rock but getting to see Slash play live was really cool. To see him picking out some of the iconic parts of some of my favourite songs was so cool to me.

This picture is really zoomed in and then cropped down, but I still wanted to share.

  • Rising sun

As we were watching the sun set last night we decided it would also be nice to see it rise in the morning as well. I didn’t sleep super well, seems I never do the first night in a new place, and we were up early to go back to the water to see it come up. Worth it.

  • Setting sun

Off for a short little one night get away to try and escape a bit of the hectic things we have going on. It was a beautiful evening walking along the water with my amazing wife.

  • Moon

Seems to be something I struggle with too often. Out for a walk on a clear night with a full moon. It looks so nice so I want to take a picture and share it. Problem is the moon is I can never get a good picture with my iPhone.

This one turned out alright, but not great.

  • Cloudy sunrise

This morning I woke up really early and couldn’t get back to sleep. The house was quiet, and I really wanted some coffee but didn’t want to risk waking anyone up making some.

Instead I went out for a drive to get a coffee and ended up at the shore to drink it. I kept thinking the clouds were going to break, but they didn’t really. The sun did peek through a bit at times though.

As a bonus here’s a little timelapse from part of my morning.

  • Beach

Today we spent the afternoon at the beach. This was my first time in ocean water this year, it was salty, warm, and mostly relaxing.

While there I took some inspiration from a co-workers photos where he uses ICM, intentional camera movement, to get some beautiful photos.

Mine is not nearly as good as his but I thought not bad for an iPhone and my first attempt. You can see the light color at that bottom is the sand, the darker water in the middle and the sky above. I do like the mix of colors.

  • Home

We made it home last night after our road trip vacation. It was a long day but worth it to sleep in my own bed.

The drive was pretty smooth though we did run into a few patches of really heavy rain. When we finally crossed our last border of the day back into Nova Scotia we were greeted with a big rainbow across the sky!

We stopped for a late supper in a park and the sky was beautiful as we ate and got ready for the last stretch home.

  • Boston Public Gardens

Yesterday was our last real day of vacation. Today we are on the long drive home. We stayed outside Boston last night and the day in and around the city.

As we usually do when in the area we took some time to walk through the Boston Commons and Public Gardens.

It had been calling for rain most of the day, but save a couple of sprinkles on the walk back to the car the weather was nice.

  • Hershey Park

We spent all day, like 11 hours, at Hershey Amusement Park yesterday. We had a blast, though with the heat and business I was thoroughly exhausted.

So many roller coasters that a couple of the kids said they still felt like they were on one as they were going to sleep last night.

This picture was from the top of Kissing Tower near the end of the day.
